Description:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated supporting banker to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in executing M&A transactions, conducting financial analysis, and supporting deal management while building strong client relationships. Responsibilities:

Deal Origination: Support Managing Director’s efforts to identify and develop M&A opportunities by leveraging your network and market insights.

Transaction Management: Oversee the transaction process, with the help of a lead banker, from initial engagement through deal closure, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.

Industry Leadership: Establish FOCUS as a thought leader within your industry by developing insightful content, attending conferences, and engaging in professional networks.

Business Development: Cultivate relationships with prospective clients, referral sources, and industry stakeholders to expand FOCUS’s footprint.

Collaboration: Work closely with Managing Directors and the broader team to contribute strategic insights, market intelligence, and operational support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred but not required
  • A minimum of 3 years of M&A transaction experience, preferably with a focus on middle-market industries
  • Strong business development skills, with a track record of cultivating and managing client relationships
  • Industry expertise in your designated vertical, with a solid understanding of market dynamics and trends
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas and strategies effectively
  • Series 79 and 63 licenses required or willingness to obtain them
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment and travel occasionally for client meetings or industry events
